County Administrative Board of Värmland has decided on the licensed hunting of a maximum 20 wolves in the county's own home ranges Brattfors, Sand Sea and Vimyren and the highest 6 wolves in the county-wide territory Loka, together with the Administrative Board Orebro. The hunt will be conducted from 2 January to 15 February 2016 or until the County Administrative Board before avlyser hunt.
The main purpose of licensed hunting is to reduce the density of wolf territories where it is greatest, to conflicts between humans and animals should be minimized. County Administrative Board of Värmland has decided on the licensed hunting of wolves, founded in the legal conditions available, calculation data from SKANDULV, agreed minimum levels of wolves, established inventory results and the objectives we have set in our regional management plans for large carnivores in the middle predator management area.
License Raiders comprises a total 46 individuals and the county considers this to be of limited amount and a reasonable cash out of the fox population size and growth.
The affected counties in the middle predator management area, after consultation agreed consumptive per county as follows:
Värmland - 20 Wolves
Orebro / Värmland - 6 Wolves (common territory Loka, hunting administered by the County Örebro)
Dalarna - 8 Wolves
Gavleborg - 6 Wolves
Västmanland - 6 Wolves
The distribution between counties follow the regional management plans for the wolf.
The County Administrative Board is now continuing the work of preparing for licensed hunting, in cooperation with other relevant counties.

Hunting may be carried from 2 January 2016 until 15 February 2016 or to the County Board avlyser hunt.
Allocation and hunting area
Hunting Area 1: Vimyren
Hunting Area 2: Brattfors and Sand Lake
Maximum 20 wolves may be held in total in the hunting area 1 and 2.
According to a separate decision may also be six wolves felled in an area covering Lokareviret on the border of Värmland and Örebro. The hunt which is administered by the County Örebro.
Maximum 6 wolves may be held totally within Lokareviret.

Hunting is one of several measures of predator management, aimed at the wolf population should have a favorable conservation status, while domestic stance is not significantly more difficult and to take into account socio-economic factors.
Naturvårdsverket har delegerat rätten att fatta beslut om licensjakt till vissa länsstyrelser i enlighet med att rovdjurspolitiken ska vara regionaliserad.
Besluten och överenskommelserna om lämpligt jaktuttag är tagna i bred förankring inom det mellersta rovdjursförvaltningsområdet där Värmland ingår.
